black snake moan

funny thing to do is take yourself out to the movies. especially a movie you know nothing about. those are the best because then you don't have any expectations. if you know christina ricci, samuel l. jackson and justin timberlake are going to be in the movie, you have to think to yourself, 'what the fuck?' who pulled all those people together?? and why is the movie named black snake moan? what the fuck does that mean? anyways, the point of this rambling post is that i went to the parkway and saw this film and was kinda blown away. it takes place in the south. it has a nymphomaniac. it has an anxiety ridden army wannabe. it has the blues. it's about love. it's about growth. it's about finding your own ground to stand on. it's the people around you who help you out. you feel crazy when leave the theater. all in all a good way to spend a saturday afternoon.

courage

and now for some political news....

so i have the privilege of working next to this awesome organization called exhale. they are an after abortion counseling talk-line (1.800.4exhale) that just went national last year and are also multi-lingual. i mean, let's be real, women who have abortions are going to have feelings about the experience and those feelings and experiences will be individual and different. they will be wanting to talk to someone to get some support. and that is why exhale is around. they rock! in addition, the women will also have people around them who love, care and want to support them, especially after the experience of an abortion. so recently, exhale unveiled a series of e-cards on their website that people can send to women who have had abortions as a sign of support and caring. i mean, hallmark has a card for every other blessed event in someone's life and all the non-holidays too! it's not odd or weird to want to show someone support after a very emotional experience. it's awesome! anyways....apparently these e-cards have raised a huge ruckus in the world which was started by this ap article. rush limbaugh went off on it and refers to my friend as 'that baker babe', which she finds hilarious and so do i. so anyways, my friend rocks and has been all over the news and on tv. you can watch her on fox holdin' it down. and if you want to help exhale continue to do the awesome work that they are doing and have some extra cash, donate to them so they can continue to help women who have had abortions. support them, so they can support the women who are our mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and grandmas.

the flossy flossy

Glamorous lyrics
(feat. Ludacris)

If you ain't got no money take yo'broke ass home
You say: If you ain't got no money take yo'broke ass home
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, yeah G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

[B-Section:]
We flying the first class
Up in the sky
Poppin' champagne
Livin' the life
In the fast lane
And I wont change
By the Glamorous, oh the flossy flossy

[chorus:]
The glamorous,
The glamorous, glamorous (the glamorous life)
By the Glamorous, oh the flossy flossy

[Verse:]
Wear them gold and diamonds rings
All them things don't mean a thing
Chaperons and limousines
Shopping for expensive things
I be on the movie screens
Magazines and boogie scenes
I'm not clean, I'm not pristine
I'm no queen, I'm no machine
I still go to Taco Bell
Drive through, raw as hell
I don't care, I'm still real
No matter how many records I sell
After the show or after the Grammies
I like to go cool out with the family
Sippin', reminiscing on days when I had a Mustang
And now I'm in...

[B-section then chorus]

[Ludacris:]
I'm talking Champagne wishes, caviar dreams
You deserve nothing but all the finer things
Now this whole world has no clue what to do with us
I've got enough money in the bank for the two of us
Brother gotta keep enough lettuce
To support your shoe fetish
Lifestyles so rich and famous
Robin Leach will get jealous
Half a million for the stones
Taking trips from here to Rome
So If you ain't got no money take yo'broke ass home
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S, yeah G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

[B-section + chorus x2]

[Verse:]
I got problems up to here
I've got people in my ear
Telling me these crazy things
That I don't want to know (fuck y'all)
I've got money in the bank
And I'd really like to thank
All the fans, I'd like to thank
Thank you really though
Cause I remember yesterday
When I dreamt about the days
When I'd rock on MTV, that be really dope
Damn, It's been a long road
And the industry is cold
I'm glad my daddy tell me so, he let his daughter know. [x3]
